Dreams In A Box

I have been listening to all of my Chantal Kreviasuk albums lately, and I have been falling in love with the music all over again. I am listening to "Under These Rocks and Stones" Right now, "Surrounded" is playing.
Chantal wrote this song after the guy she was seeing committed suicide, it talks about a bomb dropping and and that she is surrounded in her life by these thoughts of him still to this day.

It's pretty amazing how significant our lives as people are. We don't always know it but we impact people a lot with our lives. Sometimes we don't even understand the impact we have, we feel like if we were to disappear one day and never return no one would notice we were gone.
That is so far from the truth!
I know this because I have had thoughts like that before, I think we all have but the important thing to remember is that as little of an impact we may think we're making around us through our life IS significant and God has put us here on earth FOR a PURPOSE. SO even if at times we feel like the people around us don't understand who we are, or we feel unappreciated, or like no one is there we need to remember that there is something stronger and deeper within our spirits that was designed by God, a purpose that is bigger and brighter then what others might label or see us having.
I think it's important that we remember this during times in our lives when we feel alone or defeated. There is a purpose bigger and brighter than the sadness we feel today.
Another reason why I love listening to these albums is because they remind me of different moments in my life. I remember when my good friend Jessica first bought the Chantal album " Colour Moving and Still", She had it playing in her car, this was back while I was still living in Lethbridge. I remember loving it so much, I can't remember if I borrowed it but I know I eventually bought my own but every song was ratable to my life. I could understand the way she talked about something so simple as the colour blue and using that as a reference for a song, explaining "you have never seen the colour blue" in lyrics .

Well, I think I have talked enough about music for one morning. I am at school, I just finished a test and I will be meeting up with my plan & prep group to talk about our retail business we are launching from scratch in a little while. We developed the concept of a store by visiting local downtown businesses in Oakville to see what was needed. We decided to make our new company a Spa. we have been spending months now researching, writing our report about all of the elements surrounding the spa industry in Canada. Now we are moving finally into the fun parts where we get to be creative.
Yesterday we had a huge break through and came up with our " Big Idea" which is "Dream's In a Box"
That will be the name of our Spa. But more than that it will carry through in all of our design plans. We were thinking about jewelry woman get in those pretty blue Tiffany boxes and that is was sparked this concept.
Our Spa is a getaway within a city, so customers can feel like they are experiencing their dream vacation without having to pay a fortune and take a lot of time off work.
Part of the project is a full presentation in class, that is happening in 2 weeks time. We are going to put together a box ( blue tied with a ribbon) that we will use like a press box to give to each customer after they leave. We are going to do one up for our presentation and put products from our spa inside, like an eye mask, a scented candle, rose petals, essential oil, a business card etc.

We have talked about our Billboards that we will have across the region. They will be on a white background, with a big blue box as the image with a different theme "dream" next to the box. for example if it is a theme of the dream being rejuvenation we will have an illustration of a woman pampering herself and the image of the box with small dots coming out of it and the woman illustration as the result of the dream that came from the box. The only words on the boards will be " Dream's in a Box" SPA and maybe a website.

So that along with boards with colour schemes, pictures of furniture, textiles, textures and samples which we will also be presenting is just a little taste of what I have been working on for ONE of my classes. In my first year we learned how to research and launch a product from scratch now we are learning how to do that with a business.
Every class is pretty indepth right now, I have two new campaigns I have to work on for the Keg, to relaunch it in a new and innovative way and a new campaign for fed Ex. These are going to be 6 very busy weeks before Christmas but I am excited and looking forward to getting everything done.
