I have been feeling better, but still headachy most of the time. Today I spent the majority of my day working on a new recipe for Kyle and I to enjoy for dinner. I started as soon as I woke up which was around 7:30 and didn’t get completely finished until after 2:00. It wasn’t that complicated of a recipe but I just take so long getting things done, I have a habit of re reading the information over and over to make sure I am doing it right. It all turned out awesome though, better than I expected. I want to start looking for a new recipe to try again but I think I will wait for awhile to unwind from today first.
So what I made was Chicken breast stuffed with fresh Asiago cheese, glazed with a butter and sage marinade and wrapped in prosciutto ham …this gets wrapped up underneath a piece of fennel wedge ( the veggie) and you put a piece of red pepper and yellow pepper on both sides, then you wrap it in foil and bake it. I also made batch of parmesan mashed
potatoes to go with it. I just followed the recipe and what they suggested for the sides. It was so yummy, it had really great flavor and the meat was so awesome, after you take it out from the foil you drizzle the veggie juice over the meat and the potatoes for even more flavor. For dessert I made a peach cobbler. The toughest part of this was taking the skin off of the peaches because they weren’t that ripe. It was really good too, I’m not sure if I love the crust but it was pretty good.
In other news a lot is happening on the potential internship “getting an In” with an agency. I have an interview for a 3 month unpaid internship on Thursday which just came together today, I have another one next Wednesday for one with a brand planner which Is also not paid but could be good. I don’t know what kinds of things these internships are about so I have to find out if they will be beneficial and relate to what I want to do long term. If I do get any offers for internships I am going to have to try and wait until the 2nd week in September as I am meeting with someone from Publicis Sep 10 and 2 other agencies have contact me, one said they would be interested in having a meeting, they didn’t say whether it was an internship or not and I am waiting to hear back as to when we can meet together and another says they have a position as an account manager and I need to meet with that person to see what that role is all about and if it involves creative or is more of the business end.Whatever I do I want to get experience and knowledge that will help me move in the creative/planning direction I want to do long term. If one of these internships is all about that then it would be great to take it but if they are completely unrelated then it’s not in my best interest. All I can do is meet with these people and find out what the roles are all about and take it from there. It’s tricky to navigate because you don’t want to end up with nothing but you don’t want to miss out on a great opportunity either.
Kyle got me this great book called “Pick Me” It’s a book basically written by these creative director genius’s who offer tips to new ad prospects on how to break into the industry. I recognized one of the authors names right away, she is someone who commented on my portfolio early in the spring and gave me some tips, she is one top notch lady, I understand now why my portfolio was not good enough for the likes of her, she is one of the best and if I ever chose to go down the creative director path I will need to devote hours, weeks and months to developing a portfolio that will be good enough to land me a position as an art director or copy writer. Right now I am trying to discover if planning is my creative dream fulfilled or if it’s not what I desire but I won’t be able to tell until I get some experience and continue talking to industry leaders.
And the quest goes on….
