It was a whirl wind of a weekend cont.

Sunday was an even fuller day. Kyle and I were excited for a new series on the “Super natural” that was beginning at Mountain Park. My brother Andrew is doing all of the teachings and Tomas U preformed a special piano piece. It was a difficult time because everyone was grieving over the loss of Al yet it was exciting because we were talking about something big, something we all wanted to understand and learn about. SO there were a lot of different emotions but it was an incredible service.

Supernatural began THIS WEEKEND-Here are the Highlights.

Mountain Park started the new series "Supernatural" Sunday October 5thwith a bang. Thomas Yu preformed a 20min piece which was a musical interpretation of the supernatural. Andrew introduced the "Supernatural" discussion by talking about how it all began and what obstacles the church today faces in encountering the Almighty God. Next week, thanksgiving weekend; is going to be another amazing service. Invite friends who are skeptics, afraid of church, whoever you can get your hands on because it's going to be great.

Here is what's coming up:

OCT 12: THE ANGELIC REALM
The bible talks about 3 heavens, we're going to focus on 2 of them that deal with the angelic realm- That's This up coming Sunday.

OCT 5: BEFORE THE BEGINNING
A look at who God is and what he was like before
anything was created

Here are details from the FIRSTinstalment in the "Supernatural" series:

-Our society wants to have a supernatural encounter, Just look at the popular shows people are interested in watching on T.V (ie: Supernatural , Heroes) The problem with people watching these shows is there is NO truth in these. They only provide quick answers.-The world is looking everywhere to encounter and experience the Supernatural BUT the church. This is a huge problem, Church should be the FIRST place people look but it’s the last place because its more about practicing religious traditions than encountering the supernatural.

-So why are people not drawn to the church? People who call themselves “Christians” who worship a Supernatural God also live a spiritually dry life. We wonder why people around us are not drawn to the church to encounter the Supernatural yet we are dry? It’s pretty obvious it’s because they don’t see anything exciting happening in the church. (Daniel 11:22) “People who know God should prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits for God”. This verse is Key because it says “People who KNOW GOD” there is a difference in believing and knowing Him Personally.

I can really relate to this passage, back in 1999 when I was radically transformed I was telling everyone I could about what happened. Anyone could have called them “exploits” But it was just natural. Now I can’t remember the last time I have done anything like that. People may have been drawn to me back in 1999 because I was zealous in my faith but today there is no attraction as I am someone who believes in God still but doesn't really know Him like I used to.

-The first question we need to answer before we can answer anything else is this:
“Why does the church lack the signature of a Super Natural God?”

1.Tradition.

This is something that is passed on through generations. These are things like Customs and Rules handed down by people before us, people in authority. We start to base everything around the security and comfort that traditions provide. By blindly following “What you’r supposed to do” without really knowing why we shouldn't’t we are left stagnant and dry without the Holy Spirit. (Mark 27:5-13) This talks about tradition. People don’t know what they are doing, they just do it because its routine and it’s what everyone is doing.

The problem with this is our church is framed around tradition. Our church services are packages that fit our traditions but these packages ie: (only having hour long services, singing a certain number of songs, following a program) do not leave room for the Supernatural. When traditions do not allow us to hear God speaking to us, this is a dangerous thing.
-Unhealthy tradition creates a relationship with Procedure, Not God. (Col)
2 Thessalonians tells us to hold fast to traditions, meaning it’s not all bad but only becomes bad when we blindly follow it; ignoring the Supernatural.

2.Experience or Lack of Experience

When we don’t experience it, we don’t understand it. This leads us to believe God does not do that anymore. He does do Supernatural things everyday only we become not open to it because we have not experienced it firsthand.
-The first example of this is Sampson. God gave him strength though his hair. He ripped a lions jaw like it was a goat but he too had weaknesses, he was immoral, sexually promiscuous as he slept with a multitude of prostitutes. But God still used Him in spite of all these things.
-Example 2, the Corinthian Church which had an out pouring of the Supernatural were also hypocrites as they were worldly , they had sex, got drunk but God still poured his Spirit on them.
-Example 3 The church of Galatians, they were turning to different truth and believing in something different seconds after they heard Paul preach the gospel, yet God still provided miracles in their midst.

Paul acknowledges that all this garbage is going on in our Church but the Supernatural (God) is still at work in the midst of everything.

-What we need to do is ask the Lord to forgive us for passing judgment on other people who live their life a way we don’t agree with just as all the churches in the bible had sinful lifestyles and God still moved among them, it’s the same in our church, we’re no better we may sin in a different way but we’re the same. God has shown us we don’t have to be perfect to encounter Him.
-Something to think about, when you meet someone you ask them, “What is your name" names were not just names in the bible they meant something. Names were reflected according to a persons character so Heather for example means “Joyful Spirit”.

-God told Moses to tell the people that his name is “I AM” which means so much. I am to be, I am existence, I AM unimaginable power, and I AM the uncaused cause of everything that has happened. God is existence; He is entirely separate from us. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. There is nothing we can do to create an image of God.

-Moses is upset during this time, he wants to know God better, really know Him. So he calls out to God telling him “I want to know you” God then comes down to Moses in a cloud and says “Yahweh, The Lord” He introduces himself that way. And continues to say “The Lord of Compassion and Mercy” It’s interesting to note that the first thing he says when he talks to Moses is about being compassionate and full of mercy. This shows Moses and all of us that God longs to be intimate with us and have a relationship. He didn’t begin saying “I am the all powerful Super Natural God” Instead He let us know that he is interested in having a relationship with us.
