It was a whirl wind of a weekend.

Friday & Saturday
It all began around 5:30 pm when I arrived home from school. I noticed that there was a missed call from home and so I called my dad and he told me a good friend of the family had died suddenly. I was in complete shock; this person was the most generous, sincere, giving, encouraging and helpful person.I felt so sad for his wife and his family. My mom was away in Atlanta for a couple of days for a convention and was coming back Saturday so my dad was alone. Kyle and I decided to go to the Falls Friday night to help my dad with a few things, so we did that and ended up staying up really late. The next morning I was up early doing some more things and we got another call from my Aunt telling us our grandma was in the hospital and she is getting sicker.
In a way it’s a good thing because she has been on a waiting list for a good care facility and this will speed up the process but I felt completely over come with grief. I am so sad about what’s happening with my grandma, she is such an amazing woman who I love and admire so much. It’s hard to see her be in pain and feel alone.
After we got that call I broke down. I was still in shock over the death of someone who meant a lot to Kyle and I and thinking about Grandma was too much to bear, and the fact that my mom was unable to hear the news because she was traveling was just upsetting.

I spent the next couple of hours working on an assignment to help take my mind off of everything. Kyle needed to do some work on the car in the states so we headed across the border and spent the rest of our Saturday there. I was given a budget of $50.00 to spend, Kyle dropped me off at the Target complex while he went to work on the car and I made it my mission to get as much as I could within my budget.
I ended up getting a $10.00 sweater and $10.00 Liz Claiborne purse, 2 movies; At First Sight & Last Holiday 10.00, and another shirt $14.00 from Aropostal. I was within the budget but Kyle being the sweetheart that he is convinced me to buy a pair of shoes that I saw even though they were $37.00. He seems to think it’s impossible for me to find shoes that fit great and that I like! ( Go Figure!) He has way too much experience shopping with me. I think he knows me too well. After shopping we went out for dinner and because Apple Bee’s was a 35 min wait we decided to go to Pizza Hut. We got a family size meal of backed chicken fettuccini with cheese and 4 breadsticks for $13.99 The whole meal serves 4 so it was an awesome deal. I love buying food in the states! It’s cheap and there is always left over’s.
So that was our Saturday.
