I feel inspired I just finished watching “Invictus” the story about Nelson Mandela and the 1995 world cup rugby game that he inspired his country with. I think it’s funny how I was disappointed and lonely when Kyle called at 5 and said it would another late night at work (This is the 3rd night in a row he’s gotten home between 7 and 8 at night) But the past 2 hours just flew by watching this movie. It’s not that exciting, I mean sports movies are generally boring and predictable but watching one man influence a rugby team and country towards greatness is inspiring.I don’t know much about Nelson Mandela but to come from prison to becoming the president of Africa is quite the dream to hold in your heart when you’re being held captive in a tiny prison cell for years, I’m sure none of his prison mates would have ever imagined he would become a world leader. Wow, I get down on life way to easy..things don’t go the way I hope for 5 minutes and I feel like the whole world is against me.
This movie has reminded me that nothing comes for free, everything has a price. That price could be hard work, enduring painful circumstances and having to overcome the most extreme circumstances but any person who desires to have something with resilience, passion and discipline can have it. I can’t believe I forgot that..I don’t know when I forgot that feeling of inspiration, that feeling that anything is possible if you want it bad enough. I think I have been giving up too easily, but I want that to change.
I need passion and hope; I need to feel like I can conquer the challenges I have in my life. It All comes from the desire and passion; you have to have a dream, something you can visualize, something you want more than anything. I don’t think I have been dreaming enough lately, I think that’s because I’m not sure what to dream for, I don’t know where God wants me to be or what I should be doing but I do dream of finding out and pursuing it. I just have to get ready for whatever that may be so when the time comes I can go and do what he wants me to.
