French Cafe in my Music Player

Let’s see, I have been quite productive the last two days.
Monday, I searched food network for different pasta salads so we could have something yummy to go with our beef kabobs. I found this really yummy recipe, it has fresh basil and oregano, grated Romano cheese, sun dried tomato, olives, those peppers you get on the side at Quiznos, feta cheese and the dressing is olive oil, Dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar. It tastes really great, I'm looking forward to having it again! I thought I would put the recipe on here in case anyone wanted to try it out. It's interesting because I am used to making pasta salad with tomato and green peppers and other veggies but yeah, I'm not much of a cook so when I try attempt to make something new it's exciting! Especially when there are ingredient's I have never heard of!
Mediterranean Pasta Salad
Ingredients
Kosher salt
1 pound tricolor pasta, such as bow tie or fusilli
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 to 3 teaspoons dijon mustard
Freshly ground pepper
2/3 to 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/3 cup diced sun-dried
tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh basil, julienned
1/4 cup diced onion
2 large pickled pepperoncini peppers, diced
3 tablespoons halved black olives
2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
1 1/2 ounces feta
cheese, crumbled
1 1/2 tablespoons grated romano cheese
Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente; drain, then rinse with cold water to cool.
Meanwhile, make the vinaigrette: Whisk the vinegar, mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste in a small bowl. Gradually whisk in enough of the oil to make a smooth dressing; season with salt and pepper.
Combine the sun-dried tomatoes, basil, onion, pepperoncini, olives and oregano in a bowl. Add the cooked pasta, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon pepper. Add the vinaigrette and both cheeses and toss. Chill until ready to serve.
I went to Wal-Mart and got the ingredients and made enough for two batches. I got soaking wet on my walk home on Monday, I didn’t bring an umbrella with me but it was an adventure. But we had a yummy dinner, went out driving until later on, I got a lot of practicing in and then went for a late night run. The first of many I hope, It was good..I was out of breathe but It felt good to push myself.

On Tuesday I was inspired to pull everything out of my Linen closet and fold and organize things, I took stock of all my Fruits and Passion soap’s and lotions to see what I have left. I think I am good for awhile still! I spent the next hour cleaning the bathroom which to my dismay never looks clean for long. I love putting on old Fruits and Passion music while I clean. It’s the best. I was listening to “Turkish Groove”. Tuesday is cheap night at the theater so we decided to see Toy Story 3, it was awesome! Well worth the watch, I was skeptical to see a kid’s movie but it was really great. I had popcorn for dinner which probably wasn’t the best thing to have but it was delicious!
Kyle is off work today so I haven’t been able to do anything to productive today but I did go out driving for a couple of hours today, we didn’t get much downhill parallel parking in because no one parks their cars on the street in the daytime it seems but I drove around town so that’s good practice. We went to EQ3 and Home Sense. While I was in the mall I bought another old Fruits and Passion CD, “French Cafe” I am listening to it now. I love this music! It always makes me smile, we listened to it for hours on end and it brings back good memories.

Tonight I think we’ll have the other batch of pasta salad I made on Monday on the side with our turkey burgers; hopefully we’ll go for another run tonight. We want to do it 3 times a week so we really need to go again when it’s cooler out. Well I am going to get back to my new Cd..I wish I was back working at F & P listening to this music, you don't get the full listening effect when you aren't on your feet selling up a storm! But it's the closest I can get so I'll take it!
