Summer on the Horizon

Yesterday I had my first shift at HomeSence and it was quite the thrill! My feet hurt and I could hardly walk afterwards but it was very exciting. It is so cool to be part of the launch of something, it’s pretty exciting to unpack skids of new very cool products, new linens, glass wear, interesting decorating pieces, It was a very fun experience!

I am taking it easy today, tomorrow I am in again at 7A.M and my feet are still recovering. I know to wear more comfortable shoes tomorrow. I am just so excited to be a part of this store opening, there is nothing in this area like HomeSence and I have no doubt that we are going to be busy every single day with local condo owners in search for new funky pieces for their apartments. The building itself is like no other as it is one of the only downtown locations in Canada, You enter the store which looks small from outside and go down some stairs and enter a very posh environment, brick walls, wooden beams …everything old with exposed ceilings and unique inset areas. We were told that it used to be a bank very long ago so there are large doorways where old vaults used to be and other cool nooks and angles.

I wish I had more room in my place for all of the cool cookware and gadgets but unfortunately we are maxed out in space so I will just have to dream while I am organizing products on shelves.

Well I just wanted to share about my first day at work; I am engrossed so far today listening to U2, reading about the new up coming album, watching old tours on DVD and getting a little emotional anticipating the next time I will see them. It’s hard to believe their last album was released in 2009 and I can’t imagine what to expect on their next tour, I wasn’t sure if there was going to be one but it’s looking more and more like U2 is still going strong and a new album may drop at the end of this year or early next. I can’t wait to see some friendly U2 family faces again and experience the front rail inner circle again. Thinking about it gives me chills, I only hope I will be able to hit at least a dozen shows next tour…I wish I would have known how out of this world the tours were 10 years ago, I feel like I have missed out on so much sitting up in the rafters for my first few shows. I have a lot to make up for and I have no idea how long U2 will be continuing to make music so there’s no time to waste!
